How Can I Help?

Those who are interested in Emmaus Counseling Center’s mission of providing clinical counseling to individuals, couples, families and groups often ask “How can I help?”

The Emmaus Center is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization registered with the IRS and the Secretary of State of Washington.   Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.
We provide services without discrimination based on race, color, national or ethnic origin, age, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, veteran status or any other characteristic protected under applicable federal or state law.

The Samaritan FundSince most of our activities are professional in nature and highly confidential, one of the best ways a supporter can help is by giving to our Samaritan Fund.

Clinical counseling is desperately needed by individuals and families today, no matter their socioeconomic status.  Emmaus Counseling Center is committed to provide counseling services of the highest quality to those who request our services.  Many clients have insurance or the financial means to bear the cost of counseling, while others can ill afford the help they so desperately need.

As Jesus explained in his parable of the Good Samaritan, Christians must become aware and involved with those in need around them. Clients who are uninsured, underinsured or of limited means need Samaritans to come alongside and help provide resources for their care. The Samaritan Fund has been established to provide a clearinghouse for such resources. It is funded through gifts from partner churches and committed individuals who see the vision and understand the need.

PrayerPrayer is always needed and much appreciated.  We believe God’s hand is constantly working to provide us resources and the insights to connect with clients at their point of need.  Pray for The Center, our Board, our staff and our clients.

Volunteer OpportunitiesAlthough most of our activities are professional in nature and highly confidential, we have identified opportunities for volunteer activities which include:

> develop or update database (churches) (agencies);

> data entry for church/agency database ( Excel);

> copy typing (policies and procedures from standard templates);

> help with periodic mailings (stuffing envelopes, labeling);

> fundraising or grant application experience;

> use Publisher to create periodic Newsletter (we would supply content);

> hospitality for Support Groups or Network Meetings (GriefShare) (Clergy Network);

> help facilitate Support Groups;

> deliver promotional materials to Physician offices, Agencies, and Churches;

> help with other special events, workshops or meetings;

> help with January Friend-raiser Banquet (Sat Jan 27, 2018).

If you have another skill or interest, we’ll see if we can put it to use.

Call or e-mail us at patl(at) regarding these  opportunities to make a difference!
